The Perfect Winter Coat

Should I buy my winter coat already? That is the question. Okay, as you know I have been longing for the winter months. Don’t get me wrong I love summer but I just can’t get enough of autumn/winter fashion. For me, it just doesn’t get better than boots, layers and lots of faux fur. So, here I was wishing for winter in the middle of August and then all of a sudden the British weather changed. Seriously, it’s almost like we’ve skipped autumn and moved straight from summer to winter.  I guess it is time to buy a winter coat (instead of just adding them to my wish lists) and these are my must-have coats for the season:

Primark-Checked Coat- £30.00

Primark and I have a love/hate relationship. There is literally nothing more stressful than shopping in Primark… all the people, all the clothes, never being able to find your size. But then you find that perfect item and you realise that it’s so worthwhile. This coat is no exception. I may be a little biased as I did actually purchase this coat on my latest Primark trip coat. So, why did I buy this little Primark gem? Well, it has everything on my winter coat checklist. It’s wonderfully tailored yet oversized, it’s not just one colour (I want to add more colour to my winter wardrobe) and it has a lovely tartan-esque design, So, this checked coat really was a must-have and it’s only £30. I do love you Primark.

Topshop-Faux Fur Trimmed Parka Jacket-£98.00

I must remain calm but I can't because the Topshop A/W 14 collection has finally landed (well, most of the items anyway). I have been looking forward to this collection since Topshop released the campaign images featuring Cara Delevingne. I NEED to get my hands on this entire collection (I wish some items weren’t so expensive). I love that parkas are back in trend this season, they are so practical yet stylish. Of course, this Topshop parka with its faux-fur lined hood is amazing; it looks so cosy. I love it.

New Look- Black Check Duster Coat-£29.99

If you really aren’t ready to commit to a winter coat just yet, then a duster coat is the perfect solution. I recently made this purchase from New Look and I’m completely in love with it. I’m a massive fan of the checked pattern this season (as you can probably tell); it really is a great alternative to tartan. This duster coat is great for adding that extra something to an outfit. I love the longline design. It’s perfect for achieving the modern tailoring look (so naturally this is a wardrobe staple for me).

Zara-Double Breasted Trench Coat- £99.99

There is no coat more timelessly stylish than the trench coat. It’s a classic. It’s iconic. I definitely think it’s time that I invest in a good trench coat, because after all a trench coat is an investment. The trench coat will never go out of style. I love the double-breasted design of this coat, as always with Zara clothes, this coat has gorgeous unique detailing such as extra buttons on the shoulders and pockets. I think camel is going to be the colour of the season. This colour also means this coat would be perfect for the spring (nothing like forward planning!).

Miss Selfridge- Double Breasted Wool Coat-£89.00
It is my aim of the season to add a pop of colour to my winter wardrobe (because I wear far too much black in winter). I’m completely obsessed with this Miss Selfridge coat: the mint colour is just gorgeous. It will definitely brighten up those winter days. I also love that it has a double-breasted design, so effortlessly chic and stylish. This is definitely a coat that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Have you found the perfect winter coat?
