London Calling

There’s no place quite like London. London is my favourite place to be. I love spending time in this beautiful city and try to visit as often as possible. I’ve just returned from London after spending the last two days there. So, this is what I did in the capital city…

Day One: Naturally, the first place I wanted to go to after stepping off the train (and checking into the hotel) was Oxford Street. I adore Oxford Street- it is my favourite place to shop. I am a self-confessed Topshop addict and the flagship Topshop store is just incredible. It is practically fashion heaven. This store is huge- there’s a whole floor just devoted to accessories! I’m not being dramatic when I say you could probably spend all day in there. As you all know, I have been obsessing over Topshop’s AW14 collection so I couldn’t wait to visit this store. After (slowly) dragging myself away from Topshop, we continued to make our way up Oxford Street and headed straight for Selfridges. I love the beauty and fragrance floor of Selfridges; I always end up falling in love with new products and this trip was definitely no exception. I have been desperate to try Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne after seeing so many amazing reviews. Oh the smell is just divine- it really does remind me of a day at the beach. I fell in love with it instantly. This has definitely just gone straight to the top of my Christmas list. Selfridges is such an iconic store and it has so many different floors and sections. I just had to visit the Christmas section because September is definitely the start of the Christmas countdown! Selfridges also has lots of high-street concessions including Primark, Topshop and H&M. These concessions basically sell all the best-selling items of the main stores. So, I couldn’t resist buying a few items for my autumn wardrobe. I will post a London Fashion Haul soon. I definitely had to visit Liberty of London, which is a gorgeous old-fashioned department store. I also just had to take a picture of the famous Liberty’s flowers- so beautiful and colourful! After taking a detour to the historic Carnaby Street (which has the coolest vibe), we went to Covent Garden. Covent Garden is my favourite place in the whole of London. I tried my first Laudree macaron (after finding out they are gluten-free!). I had the salted caramel one and it was so delicious. We ate dinner at Bill’s in Covent Garden, which was so lovely. I loved the little features of the restaurant such as the chandelier and jars filled with sweets.

Day Two: The weather was (surprisingly) really sunny and warm, so we decided to make the most of it by having a wander around the city. I love just exploring London: there’s always so much to see and do. We decided to take a walk along the Embankment next to the Thames (just like Made in Chelsea, really!). Since the weather was so lovely, we went to my favourite park in London: St James’s (just by Buckingham Palace). I loved watching the world go by while catching the last of the summer sunshine. Next, we headed back to Oxford Street where we came across the cutest little street called Charlotte Street. We stopped for lunch at Zizzi (naturally). Before catching the train back home, I had to visit the MAC store at St. Pancras Station. I treated myself to a new lipstick: Hue in Glaze Finish (expect a review soon...). We ended the day by having a lovely glass of champagne at the champagne bar. I hope it's not too long before I visit London again. London, I love you.

Have you visited London recently?
