Style Crush: Olivia Palermo

If you have been keeping an eye on my Pinterest (which I’m quickly getting addicted to), you’ll have noticed that I love Olivia Palermo’ s style. As you all know, I cannot get enough of A/W fashion and I always find myself looking at Olivia for inspiration. Olivia’s style is perfect all year round, however, I think she really excels at A/W trends. In my opinion, Olivia is the queen of autumn and winter fashion; she even looks incredible in a poncho! Olivia is definitely contributing to my love (obsession!) with autumnal trends. Olivia Palermo: you are my A/W 14 style crush.

Hello Burberry. My name is Julie-Ann and I would love my own monogramed Burberry Prorsum poncho, thank you. Yeah, I wish! Ever since I saw Cara strut down the Burberry A/W14 catwalk in this gorgeous colour block checked blanket poncho, I have been obsessed. Of course, no one can wear and style this poncho off the runway quite like Olivia Palermo. She makes it her own. This has got to be one of my favourite looks of the entire season. I love how she styles the poncho with a simple checked shirt and shorts. Olivia knows that the main focus of the outfit should definitely be the poncho. Oh and yes, the checked print is going to be huge this season. Yet, of course, this look is also about those incredible thigh-high boots. Styling this Burberry poncho with statement boots is nothing short of incredible. The ultimate autumnal look, effortlessly styled.

When in doubt… go monochrome! I love monochrome for winter trends; it’s so classic and chic. This whole outfit is amazing. The whole combination of the military coat, leather collar, grid skirt and boots is so on point for this season. I love how Olivia has styled this outfit with a cute embellished bag. Also, wearing sunglasses in winter? Inspired.

Okay, it has to be said that Olivia knows how to wear a poncho. Seriously, that girl knows how to work a poncho. I love this super casual yet stylish look; perfect for those cold wintery days. Olivia knows what works for her; so naturally, this outfit is worn with another pair of gorgeous boots. The oversized bag helps to breakup the colour of the outfit and adds that extra something to the look. This outfit epitomises that you can be cosy and comfy this season while still being so fashionable.

So, the perfect pop of colour and a bold print can really make a winter look. Just because it’s winter it doesn’t mean you should be daring with your outfits. I love how the pop of colour from Olivia’s clutch and boots brightens up this outfit. Also, the animal print skirt adds a quirky element to the whole look. Olivia just makes this look work. The lesson to be learned from this outfit: winter is definitely not the time to be boring!

Winter pastels are going to be a huge trend this season and you can totally see why- what a gorgeous trend. It really reminds me of cupcake frosting for some reason (yum). Anyways… I’m a massive fan of Olivia’s pale pink coat and heels. I just love the subtle hint of colour.  It’s such a pretty and girly look. I also have some serious hair envy of Olivia's wavy hair- how is her hair always so perfect?! Sigh.

A statement coat is definitely the one item you should by this season. You can do no wrong investing in a gorgeous winter coat. I love this baroque patterned coat. It’s so elegant. Also, I think this season will definitely see the return of the leather trousers. The whole leather trousers and coat combination is so amazing… Yeah, so can I have Olivia Palermo’s entire A/W wardrobe, please?

Do you love Olivia's style?
