The December Issue

So, November has just arrived but December can’t get here quick enough. I’m already in the festive mood and counting down the days to Christmas (only 48 days to go…).
Now that the heart-warming John Lewis Christmas advert has been released, it’s definitely acceptable to get all Christmassy! Also, if you haven’t seen the advert yet it really is the most adorable advert ever and yes, rather predictably, I did get very emotional watching it. The John Lewis Christmas advert has become a bit of Christmas tradition in the UK and this year’s advert is definitely the best one yet. I would also quite like a penguin for Christmas now….

Anyway, back to my lust for December. Okay, so December isn’t here just yet but the December Issue of British Vogue has arrived! I love reading Vogue and along with the iconic September Issue, the December Issue is my favourite issue of the year. This year’s issue is amazing and is definitely essential reading for this season. (Queen) Kate Moss looks incredible on the cover photographed by Mario Testino: I love the natural makeup look – it’s a cover shot that is simply stunning and very Kate. Vogue has released two different covers for this issue that celebrates Kate turning 40: one with this natural shot of Kate and the other one is Kate rocking a vamped-up look. I love the idea of two covers and it really shows the versatility of Kate. This issue is all about Kate and her world: she is the guest editor of this issue of Vogue and I have loved finding out more about one of the most famous models in the world.  Kate also has a natural creative flair (of course!) and her styling for one of the features in this month’s issue is just so on point. Kate obviously has a love for monochrome modern tailoring with just a hint of a bold print. Yep, so basically Kate and I are style twins (if only… but seriously I just can’t get over my love for monochrome and the tailoring trend this year).

The rest of the issue looks at the past 12 months in the Fashion Industry. 2014 has definitely been an incredible year for fashion. There have been so many incredible trends: bold prints, sports luxe, block colours, culottes, tailoring and the return of the flat shoe. Yep, it’s been a HUGE year for fashion and it’s set to continue in 2015...

One of my favourite things about Vogue is getting the opportunity to see the best-of-the best fashion and beauty campaigns. It has to be said that AW14 has been an exceptional year for incredible advertising campaigns. Flicking through the pages of December’s Vogue has given me lots to lust after this Christmas (oh to have a Burberry trench coat in my life…). I love this issue of Vogue.

Have you read the December Issue?
