A Little Maybelline Haul

The post where Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on Maybelline products...

Let's be honest, who can resist a good 3 for 2 offer on makeup? Well, I certainly can't. Maybelline New York is one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands and there had been quite a number of new releases that I'd had my eye on including that eyeshadow palette. So, naturally, I bought a few things...

Colour Sensational Lipstick in 725 Tantalizing Taupe - £6.99:  We all know I'm a massive fan of nude - your lips but better - lipstick shades. I own way too many. So, of course, I bought another one. What's a girl to do?! Tantalizing Taupe, as the name suggests, is a gorgeous nude-pink lipstick with a hint of taupe. Not too brown, not too pink. Just a lovely everyday nude lipstick. Tantalizing Taupe is from Maybeline's Stripped Nudes collection. These lipsticks have the creamiest of formulas and leave a nice sheen on the lips. They also smell absolutely incredible. These lipsticks are very MAC-esque but are a fraction of the price. A brilliant drugstore buy.

The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette - £9.99: I love seeing more eyeshadows palettes in the drugstore. I've used my L'Oreal La Palette Nude practically every day since purchasing it. So, I couldn't wait to try Maybelline's The Nudes palette. The first thing that attracted me to this product is the packaging: super sleek and so travel friendly. I just wish the palette had a mirror. The palette is separated into quads, trios and duos of beige, taupe and bronze shades. There's a really helpful diagram on the back of the packaging with possible combinations and looks. The palette is so versatile: 12 shades and 13 different looks all in a palette that fits perfectly in your handbag! By just looking at the shades, you have to say that The Nudes looks very similar to the UD Naked palette. Seriously, how much does that gorgeous coppery-gold shimmer look like half-baked?! Okay, so the pigmentation is a bit hit and miss. Some of the shades have incredible pigmentation and yet others are very sheer. The shades are quite blendable but you can tell that this is a drugstore palette. The middle quad is amazing though and I love the first quad for subtle everyday looks. Let's be honest, 12 shades for under £10 is quite a bargain. I have been reaching for this palette quite often and I definitely think I will be taking The Nudes with me to NYC, as it's perfect for travelling!

The Eraser Eye Concealer - £7.99: This product may have replaced the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as my all-time favourite drugstore concealer. Yes, I know that's quite a statement but I'm seriously obsessed with this concealer. I practically pick up a new one every time I see it back in stock. I use the shade Light and it always seems to be sold out, so, I like to have a backup just in case I run out. To be honest, when I first bought The Eraser Eye I thought the packaging was a bit gimmicky. I was completely wrong. It 'erases' my dark circles in an instant and it's so creamy and bendable. It doesn't cake or crease and it really brightens up my eye area. I love it.
