All of the (High)Lights

I’m in love with this beautiful palette….

As you all know by now, I’m a girl that loves her highlight. I’m all about that glow. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette has been on my wish list for quite a while now. And I just couldn’t resist it any longer. So, when I was in NYC (take me back to New York, please), I naturally picked up this beauty of a palette in one of my many Sephora shopping sprees. Then, I kinda forgot about it. I know what you’re thinking, how could you forget about it?! Well, when I got back to the UK, I got into the routine of using the bronzer from Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow to contour and the oh-so-beautiful BECCA X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop to highlight…

But, then, (because I’m so clumsy/unlucky) in the middle of the usual Monday morning rush, I dropped my beloved Bronze & Glow and the powders smashed. Urgh Mondays. Well, I needed an alternative and I found myself reaching for the Ambient Lighting Palette.

Now, this palette contains three shades: Radiant Light (a sun-kissed golden beige), Dim Light (a peachy-beige) and Incandescent Light (an opalescent pearl). Light is definitely the name of the game here. This palette gives you all the glow you’ll ever need. Surprisingly, I found Radiant Light to be the perfect shade for adding a natural-looking bronze and I apply this to my cheekbones and temples. It’s great for a subtle contour. I then mix the two other shades together because on their own they are gorgeous but when you mix them together: the result is just wow. A lovely, natural looking, and beautiful highlight. This is a highlight that looks so pretty but is not as dramatic as Champagne Pop.  The powders in the Ambient Lighting Palette are so finely milled. They feel so soft on the skin. I apply the powders with the NARS Mie Kabuki Brush (another absolute fave of my mine) and the finish is flawless.

So, by accident, this little palette has become an essential product in my everyday makeup routine. I don’t even miss Bronze & Glow (I know, right?!). The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is beautiful and brings all the glow.
